Experience photography in its traditional form, the silver gelatin print
The Photolab Picturish Gallery announces an exhibit of black and white silver gelatin prints, titled Laney Visions 2010 with work by eight Bay Area photographers, Steve Ansley, Susan Bradley, Christine Chorney, Andreina Febres, Carl Lantz, Black Moon, Shoey Sindel and William Van Meter. The exhibit promotes the fine art of black and white film and the silver gelatin print. The photographers are all advanced students of Michael Moya, Laney Photo Department instructor and a working professional photographer in the San
Francisco Bay Area.
Eight advanced student photographers chose the once ubiquitous (now increasingly rare) silver gelatin print as the ideal medium for their fine art photography. Working with master photographer Michael Moya, they made darkroom silver gelatin prints from their work in experimental landscapes, contemporary still lifes, portraits and urban street environments, all using black and white film.
The exhibit will run from August 7 to September 18, 2010 at the Picturish Gallery, 2235 Fifth Street in Berkeley. The exhibit is open to the public, accessible and free of charge.
